We asked international companies “Doing Business in India” what their main business challenges in India were and what they want to see in the upcoming Indian Union Budget 2016-17.
The top answers were common across all industries: complex regulations & import procedures; high duties & taxes. It is little wonder that India ranked 130 of 189 countries in the World Banks’ Ease of Doing Business study (Doing Business in India Ranking), in June 2015.
At M+V we work with foreign companies in India to address these complexities and minimise these costs, and like our customers, we have high hopes that the upcoming budget will include dates for implementation of GST and reduced import taxes – and like them we are cautiously optimistic.
